God Has A Plan
Of all the impactful truths in scripture, the revelation of God’s plan and purpose for His creation was one of the most life altering for me. Many attempt to live life as if there isn’t any overall plan to life. It’s just up to you..whatever you make of it. Then we wonder why we are depressed…
Think about it. If there is something lying around my house or maybe even my car or office that doesn’t have a purpose, what do I do with it? Maybe it even had a purpose at some point, but it no longer fulfills that purpose. For example: what if there’s an empty water bottle in my car…at one point it had water and it’s planned purposeful creation was to serve me water..now it’s empty and has a crack in it. What is it now? It no longer has a purpose so now it’s garbage. It’s garbage because it’s useless.
What happens when you believe there isn’t any real plan or purpose for your life? You are depressed… because you see yourself as useless. If you are useless, well… you see yourself as garbage. Might as well toss me out. Now… you may not be putting two and two together at that moment when you’re depressed, but ultimately it’s going to follow.
That’s is why the revelation of God’s plan for the world and your place within it is always life changing. It completely throws you for a loop you were never expecting.
This Sunday we are going to take a look at Ephesians 1:3-12 and more specifically when Paul says that God reveals to us “the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
